During your studies

Are you looking for a suitable topic for your Bachelor's or Master's thesis, or are you looking for a suitable partner for your practical semester? At Herding, we offer a wide range of opportunities, from the R&D departement to design and business administration.

Dual study programme

During the semester breaks, you will already be working in the company and during your studies you will also be with us for five hours a week to get to know all the work processes and to supervise smaller projects.

International Technology Management

Study programme with in-depth practical experience Duration: approx. 3.5 years

As a dual student in the field of international technology management, you will work with the management to define projects that you will implement as part of a team with various departments. There are many opportunities to apply both technical and business skills from your studies and to combine them in practice. You can use your intercultural and language skills and act globally in cooperation with our foreign subsidiaries. Ideally, you will spend your internship semester abroad at one of our group's locations.

Bio- & Environmental Process Engineering

Studies with in-depth practice Duration: approx. 3.5 years

Here you will be largely involved in the work of the research and development department and help, for example, with the construction of test facilities. You will independently design test and inspection equipment and conduct series of tests on process engineering issues. But you can also be part of the additive manufacturing and project team, as is the project planning of a new work platform. Here you really get involved in the technical implementation and are also involved in service assignments with customers. The spectrum is as diverse as it is interesting.

Mechatronics & Digital Automation

Duration: approx. 3.5 years

You start in the mechatronics department with the practical basics of metal and electrical engineering together with the apprentices. In the second year, you get an insight into maintenance and are introduced to the work of the electrical department. Here, Industry 4.0 in particular plays a major role in relation to production facilities. As a link between the two departments, you will acquire practical programming skills so that you can then independently implement smaller projects, such as the recording, processing and evaluation of climate data from production.

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

Combined study programme Duration: approx. 4.5 years

The combined study programme combines a traditional apprenticeship with a degree course. During the training part, you will work with our trainees in final assembly. Afterwards, you will support our electrical department. Here you will be involved in planning and projecting the control system for new plants. This also includes on-site assembly work at the customer's premises, which expands your practical knowledge. With us, you will get to know the entire process from the project planning of the systems to the installation on site.

Mechanical Engineering

Studies with in-depth practice Duration: approx. 3.5 years

As a dual student, you will work in the order processing & technology department and support us in the order processing and construction of our filter systems. Working with Inventor 3D is a key aspect of your daily work. In addition, you will gain knowledge of design calculations, material suitability, process engineering as well as the handling of our data management systems for technical drawings, documents and order management.
